Multi-million dollar weddings in the UAE

The fast growing destination wedding industry has emerged as lucrative business opportunity and is worth a whopping $90 billion representing 25% of the $330 billion global wedding market.

The Destination Wedding Planner’s Congress was held recently where a bunch of celebrity wedding planners including Preston Bailey, who designed Ivanka Trump’s exotic wedding, Vandana Mohan, who planned bollywood’s Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s wedding attended.

ABTV spoke to Mohamed Morani from Cineyug celebrations about the destination wedding industry and key trends that are shaping it today.

North and Central America are the world’s biggest destination wedding market with an overall value of $27 billion. Africa and Middle East contribute 5% or $4.5 billion each. The UAE is slowly becoming an emerging destination of choice for couples from Europe and America and is already a top destination for those from Africa and Asia.

Also, in attendance at the DWP Congress was Ali Bhaktiar from Ali Bhaktiar designs, a luxury wedding planning company in Dubai.
